Office Manager and Benefits Coordinator

Julia Tockar (she/her) serves as the Office Manager and Benefits Coordinator at the Surdna Foundation. She manages the Foundation’s facilities to ensure efficient office operations, supply management, and front desk responsibilities. She is the liaison between foundation staff, guests, and callers, playing an integral role in maintaining the Foundation’s professional image. She also provides administrative support to the Director of People and Culture and is pivotal in helping staff better understand their benefits and coverage.

Before joining Surdna in 2016, Julia worked at Unipart Services America, a logistics company, for 13 years and gained valuable experience in relationship building, problem-solving techniques, and organization and time management skills.

As a leader in corporate social responsibility, Julia rolled out cost reductions and recycling programs, eliminating waste from Unipart Services America’s processes. She gained 100% employee engagement in charity fundraisers and events, with proceeds donated to various organizations such as Operation Smile, Salvation Army, Mahwah Food Bank, American Red Cross, and Operation Shoe Box.

Julia has served on two committees for the Mahwah Regional Chamber of Commerce, raising funds for underserved communities and families in need.

Outside the office, Julia’s passion has grown in the arts where she studies figurative sculpting and is hands-on in creating her own works.
