University of Pennsylvania Report: Arts and Culture Improve Health, Safety and Well-being
March 10, 2017
The University of Pennsylvania’s Social Impact of the Arts Project released a report yesterday entitled, “Culture and Social Wellbeing in New York City.” The two-year research project studied the economic, education, environment, public safety and culture factors at a neighborhood scale to determine whether there is a relationship between the presence of arts and culture and other factors like school success and residents’ health. The project was supported by the Surdna Foundation and the NYC Cultural Agenda Fund in the New York Community Trust.
