Surdna Welcomes Stephanie Cineus as Grants Management Associate
In February, the Surdna Foundation welcomed Stephanie Cineus as the new grants management associate.
Stephanie shares responsibility for ensuring Surdna’s grantmaking process runs smoothly, from grant applications and payments through to final reports. Stephanie works with the Director of Grants Management, Silvana Serafimovska, to create systems and practices that support Surdna staff, programs, and grantees in service of Surdna’s social justice mission, allowing for creativity, collaboration, responsiveness, and learning.
“I look forward to the ways in which I can help improve grantmaking operations alongside Silvana’s leadership, always guided by the needs of Surdna grantees,” said Stephanie. “I am beyond excited to be part of the Surdna team.”
Stephanie comes to Surdna from the Commonwealth Fund, where she served as a grants associate supporting efficient and effective grantmaking operations. Before that, Stephanie worked at AdvantageCare Physicians as a non-clinical care coordinator. This role sparked Stephanie’s interest in how health policy can improve the quality of patient care, leading her to pursue a master’s degree in health policy and management from the CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy.
“I am pleased to welcome Stephanie to our small-but-mighty grants management team,” said Silvana Serafimovska, director of grants management at Surdna. “She brings thoughtfulness, care, and a strong commitment to effective grantmaking, and I’m grateful to have her as a colleague and partner in this work.”
