Better Markets and Surdna Foundation Renew Partnership to Advance Economic Opportunity and Shared Prosperity

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Dennis M. Kelleher, President, Co-founder, and CEO of Better Markets, and Adam Connaker, Vice President of Investments at the Surdna Foundation, issued the following statement today announcing a new multi-year general operating support grant to advance financial reform and build a more inclusive economy:

Statement from Dennis M. Kelleher, President, Co-founder, and CEO, Better Markets:

“We are excited to renew our partnership with the Surdna Foundation, whose continued support is essential to Better Markets’ mission of fighting for an economy and a financial system that works for everyone—not just those at the top. This grant will fuel our advocacy across the power centers in Washington, from the regulatory agencies and the courts to the administration and the media. We will continue to fight for rules and policies that channel capital toward the real productive economy, close wealth gaps, and build broad-based economic security and opportunity for all Americans.”

Statement from Adam Connaker, Vice President of Investments, Surdna Foundation:

“The Surdna Foundation is committed to fostering sustainable communities guided by principles of social justice and inclusive economies. Better Markets plays a vital role in that work by ensuring that the policies and rules governing our financial system reflect the needs of all Americans, especially those who have been historically excluded from economic opportunity. We are glad to continue investing in their work and in the shared vision of a more just and equitable economy.”

This renewed partnership is made possible by a three-year general operating support grant from the Surdna Foundation.
