Geraldine Lopez Appointed Office Assistant at the Surdna Foundation
The Surdna Foundation today announced the appointment of Geraldine Lopez as office assistant. Providing administrative support to staff and board, she plays a critical role in ensuring seamless operations and keeping the office efficient, positive, and welcoming.
Most recently, Geraldine worked for A Thousand Stories Events, where she assisted in event logistics and day-of support for clients, including the Surdna Foundation. Originally from the Dominican Republic, Geraldine brings over a decade of customer service experience to Surdna.
Prior, she worked in retail and service, managing inventory, pricing, food preparation, and client experiences for Bonavita, David Yurman, Amazon, and more.
“We loved working with Geraldine during her time at A Thousand Events so much that we wanted to bring her onboard full-time,” said Jasmin Castillo, head of administration and the office of the president. “She’s incredibly thoughtful and warm, and the entire Surdna staff was thrilled to learn that she would be joining us.”
“I’m excited to work with Surdna in this new role because I can continue to help the team around the office and, at the same time, I get to learn with my colleagues,” Geraldine said.
Geraldine holds an associate’s degree in liberal arts and science from Hostos Community College. When she’s not working, Geraldine likes to read, watch TV, and spend time with her three children.
