2020 Aeris Insight Inc. Path Created with Sketch.

Atlas Progress
During the grant period beginning May 1, 2020, Aeris has focused on strengthening the user
interface and security of the Atlas software platform. They have made significant progress on both fronts and are on schedule to release a minimum viable product in the Fall that is ready to demo with beta users. The goal is to sign on three to five beta users in Q4. The Aeris team will set up and onboard these users, who will be able to use and test Atlas for collecting, aggregating, analyzing, and visualizing both impact and financial performance data on their impact investments.

Aeris Update
As a result of the COVID pandemic Aeris is experiencing unprecedented interest in their CDFI ratings and data services from a new and expanded base of investors. To stimulate investment in CDFIs, which once again are serving as financial first-responders for small businesses during the economic downturn, Aeris has extended free access to their Performance Maps service (quarterly, longitudinal data on the financial, impact, and portfolio performance of individual CDFIs). The uptake by investors has been robust. At the same time, funding for expansion into the broader impact investing space has tightened considerably, including funding for the buildout of Atlas. Aeris’ 2020 budget included $1.2 million in new grant revenue to support Atlas development and new staff hires for business development and communications. In the Spring it became clear that they would not be able to secure required funding, they stopped recruitment activity and slowed the development of Atlas.
